Stage 22 - New Town to Minot, ND - June 15, Saturday
Saturday's ride posted Monday ...
TODAY'S RIDE ...
Jonah is taking the day off. David and I depart New Town looking forward to a fun and reasonably short 77 mile ride. I am looking forward to riding alone with David, eager to give him the lead following his pace and avoid Thursday's disappointment.
About halfway into our ride, we turn off the main road and use back roads less traveled to make our way. We face stiff headwinds/crosswinds any time we head north and the back roads have two such sections. When we turn east, though, we enjoy the tailwinds.

The setting is beautiful and we take a few moments enjoying the quiet and serenity.
The final 30 miles or so pass uneventfully. The road runs straight and true with nary a ripple or a curve. This is typical of so many roads the past few days.
THE DAY'S END ...
We enjoy an excellent dinner at The Starving Rooster. I wonder why an eatery would use a dying animal to advertise their wares. We want desert and our restaurant nor elsewhere in Minot has what we want: ice cream or a homemade pie. We will not be deterred and head to the local grocery store to sate our needs. Judy, Jonah and I are on a mission. We are goofy inside the grocery store, joking about the different flavors and other silly subjects that come to mind. It is a relaxing and fun end to the day. We settle on our ice cream and head back to our hotel. It has been a good day.
ODDS & ENDS ...
I have been forgetting to post the number of miles I am riding. That's a good thing since it is not what I have been focusing on.
